Gabrielle Guy is an art book designer and visual artist based in Cape Town, South Africa. She has designed numerous artist monographs, exhibition catalogues and photo books, most notably for William Kentridge, Tyler Hobbs, Igshaan Adams, Jo Ractliffe, Frida Orupabo and Pieter Hugo. She is currently working on a new photograph for revered South African photographer David Goldblatt.
Working closely with Stevenson gallery since 2006, she has designed their corporate identity and worked on many books and catalogues for their artists. She has recently completed an exhibition catalogue for Frida Orupabo's travelling solo exhibition On Lies, Sectrets and Silence at Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm, which is travelling to Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo, in 2025. Other major book projects include William Kentridge’s Why Should I Hesitate (2019, Norval Foundation), Tyler Hobbs’ Order/Disorder (2024, Hurtwood and Unit), and African Artists: From 1882 to Now (2021, Phaidon).

Gabrielle has held a few small exhibitions of her own work, presented some printed-matter projects at A4 Arts Foundation (2021, 2022) and been included on group shows at Stevenson (2021) and Under Projects (2023). She continues to practise across the fields of drawing, collage, site-specific art-making, book-making and photography.
